A fantastic two-day trek in the surroundings of Cusco, departing from Chinchero, located just 45 minutes from Cusco, leading to Huchuy Qosqo, an ancient Inca archaeological site perched on a cliff with stunning views over the Sacred Valley of the Incas, crossing mountain passes, Andean communities and offering a large array of local flora and fauna. An excellent and less-beaten hike that can be complemented with a visit to Machu Picchu as an alternative to the saturated Inca Trail. This trek is ideal for those passengers who really want to be far in the middle of nowhere with only nature surrounding them as they were a local home and to be feed by the organic products that they cultivated that is scarcely seen by tourists. Huchuy Qosqo (small Cusco) is situated above the Valley of Urubamba and offers very spectacular views over the mountain range Cordillera de Vilcanota. This trek is also a great way for you to enjoy a shorter trek that still includes Machu Picchu and Inca trails (with Inca stairs that are better than the Inca Trail).
